Dr Tasaduk Ariful Hussain

Dr. Tasaduk Ariful Hussain is a renowned scholar and development practitioner with over 25 years of experience spanning research, governance, community development, and public health. Holding an M.Tech. in Applied Geology and a recently completed Ph.D., Dr. Hussain's research encompasses diverse fields such as disaster management, climate change, renewable energy, and public systems. His doctoral thesis on hydro-power potential in Assam showcases his ability to address complex challenges with innovative solutions. As the Founder of the North East Social Trust (NEST), Dr. Hussain has been instrumental in empowering marginalized communities, particularly women and youth, through governance reforms and socio-economic development. His initiatives include training over 1,500 elected women representatives in Panchayati Raj institutions and conducting participatory research to enhance local self-governance. Dr. Hussain's contributions to public health include designing programs for immunization, maternal health, and HIV/AIDS interventions in remote areas, in collaboration with UNICEF and National AIDS Control Organization (NACO). He has evaluated and supported numerous NGOs working on HIV/AIDS rehabilitation and awareness. A prolific researcher and dedicated leader, Dr. Hussain seamlessly integrates academic rigor with community-centric action, addressing critical regional and global challenges with lasting impact.
